About this file
This is a House Bill 89 Verification form required by the City of Buda, Texas for contract compliance with Texas Government Code Chapter 2271. The document serves as a sworn certification in which a company representative attests that the company does not currently boycott Israel and commits to maintaining this position throughout the contract term with the City of Buda. The verification applies specifically to the City Park Playscape Replacements project, which involves design, removal, and replacement of playground equipment and safety surfacing at City Park in Buda, Texas. The form requires the authorized representative to sign and date the certification, confirming the company's compliance status.
The certification includes exemptions applicable to contracts involving companies with fewer than ten full-time employees or contracts valued below $100,000 paid wholly or partly from public funds. Companies meeting either exemption criterion may state their exemption status in their proposal response rather than provide the full boycott certification. The document references House Bill 793 exemptions under Texas Government Code Section 2270.002 and defines key terms including "Boycott Israel" and "Company" to ensure clarity regarding compliance obligations. This certification is a mandatory compliance requirement for bid submission and contract award consideration.
