About this file

This is Addendum 1 to the solicitation for Physicals for Hazardous Materials Rescue Team issued by the City of Wichita, Kansas Fire Department. The addendum clarifies and modifies requirements outlined in the original bid documents. The amendment addresses specifications for medical examinations to be provided to members of the Hazardous Materials Rescue Team, including baseline physical evaluations, fitness assessments, and occupational health screenings necessary for personnel working with hazardous materials. The addendum specifies that bidders must acknowledge receipt of this amendment in their bid submissions and confirms that all terms and conditions of the original solicitation remain in effect unless explicitly modified by this addendum. The document establishes that interested vendors must incorporate the amended requirements into their proposals to be considered responsive.

The addendum does not introduce new pricing structures but requires that all cost proposals reflect compliance with the amended specifications and requirements. No specific set-asides, incumbent information, or contract renewal options are detailed in this amendment document. The addendum serves to ensure clarity and consistency in bid evaluation by establishing uniform requirements for all prospective bidders responding to the City of Wichita's solicitation for hazardous materials rescue team physical examination services.

RFB 260226 – Phycials for Hazardous Materials Rescue Team

Can you please share the current / previous provider?

Via Christi Occupational Health

Can you please share the previous contract award amount?

The award was $40,000.00 per year, based on estimated quantities.

We are a mobile testing company and bring our mobile testing unit directly to the fire station (with the hopes of dramatically limiting the time cost of sending members to a clinic or hospital) would this method of testing be considered?

We are open to this, however, many of the fire stations have limited parking and space which would be unable to accommodate large vehicles/trailers.

Scope of Services – Can the current Hazmat Team members be tested as a group over a couple days utilizing our mobile unit? With the pre-employment physicals be completed at a local clinic?

Due to scheduled and unscheduled leaves, absences due to military and other deployments and last-minute scheduling conflicts, it is unlikely we would be able to get all members through over a period of a few days.

Can the “special tests” be included as panels? (example – Heavy metal panel including:

Arsenic, Cadmium, Chromium, Lead, Mercury) or do they need to be available as individual tests?

Yes, the special tests may be included as panels.
