About this file
This is a Scope of Work specification document for the Parker Arts, Culture & Events (PACE) Center in Parker, Colorado, detailing requirements for the design, fabrication, and installation of a theatrical seating wagon system within the mainstage theatre. The project involves the creation of movable seating wagons to be positioned on an existing orchestra pit lift, with wagons fabricated off-site and installed by the contractor. The seating wagons must accommodate existing seat groupings, feature manually operated low-clearance casters, hinged sections, and locking mechanisms to secure wagons to the lift table using locating pins and sockets. Key performance requirements include a minimum safety factor of 5 for load-bearing components, maximum member deflection of 1/360, uniform floor load capacity of 100 PSF plus seat weight, concentrated load capacity of 1,000 pounds in a 3-foot square area, and maximum gap tolerance of 0.375 inches between wagon and lift edges. The contractor must submit shop drawings within thirty days of contract award and provide complete operations and maintenance manuals in both bound and electronic formats prior to system commissioning.
The specification requires the contractor to possess a minimum of fifteen years' experience in theatrical seating wagon construction and installation, with all welding work performed by AWS-certified welders complying with AWS D1.1 standards. Structural materials must meet ASTM specifications including A36 structural steel, A500 steel tube, and A48 gray iron castings, with all fasteners rated Grade 5 or better. The contractor is responsible for field dimensioning, verification, engineering, manufacturing, installation, testing, and demonstration of the system, as well as providing one hour of training on system operation. All work is subject to owner and consultant review during fabrication and installation, with a mandatory pre-installation meeting required. The system carries a two-year warranty from the date of owner acceptance, excluding paint and finishes, with defective components to be replaced within thirty days of notification at no cost to the owner. Final payment is contingent upon obtaining all required certifications from applicable legislative authorities, which remains solely the contractor's responsibility.
