About this file
This document is a Plans and Specifications file from Clarendon County Engineering in South Carolina for drainage pipe replacement projects on two county-maintained dirt roads. The project involves removal and replacement of drainage pipes at two separate locations: Padgett Highway in the Northeast section of the county, where 2 existing 36-inch corrugated metal pipes (CMP) will be removed and 3 new 48-inch reinforced concrete pipes (RCP) at 40 feet in length will be installed to accommodate drainage from approximately 614 acres including a section of US Highway 378; and David Chalmers Road in the Northwest section, where 1 existing 30-inch CMP will be removed and 2 new 48-inch RCP pipes at 40 feet in length will be installed to serve a drainage area of approximately 352 acres, with additional outlet ditch cleaning and regrading for 100 feet downstream. The scope of work includes approximately 200 linear feet of 48-inch Class III reinforced concrete pipe installation and requires all labor, equipment, materials, traffic control, and incidentals necessary for completion.
The contractor must furnish all work in accordance with South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) Standard Specifications and Standard Drawings, including specifications for excavation, backfill, pipe materials meeting ASTM C76 standards, rubber gasketed joints per ASTM C443, compacted backfill to 95 percent AASHTO T-99 density, riprap end treatments, and site restoration with seeding of disturbed areas. Payment will be rendered as a lump sum for the 48-inch RCP pipe installation and mobilization, with additional lump sum or per-unit payments for excavation, bedding, backfill, end treatments, riprap, or geotextile as listed in the bid schedule. The contractor is responsible for verifying field conditions prior to bidding, coordinating with Clarendon County Public Works for site access, maintaining safe work zones in accordance with SCDOT and MUTCD requirements, and completing all work within the contract timeframe specified by the County.
