About this file
This is a Request for Information (RFI) issued by Southwestern University, a private college, seeking vendors for sidewalk assessment and remediation services across its approximately fifty-acre campus. The RFI aims to gather information about capabilities, best practices, and innovative approaches for assessing, maintaining, and repairing concrete sidewalks, which currently total an estimated twenty miles in length and range from four to twenty feet in width. Southwestern University is specifically interested in identifying long-term strategies to address current and future risks associated with sidewalk infrastructure, with sidewalks exhibiting various conditions including elevated lifts, cracking, spaulding, holes, and gaps between seams.
The RFI requests detailed information from potential vendors across six key areas: company overview, assessment capabilities, remediation services, reporting and communication, sustainability and innovation, and pricing structure. Respondents are encouraged to provide details about their company history, licenses, experience with educational clients, assessment methods, ADA compliance review capabilities, repair techniques, communication processes, use of eco-friendly materials, long-term maintenance planning, and general pricing approaches. Importantly, this document is not a solicitation for bids or proposals but is intended to inform a potential future Request for Proposals (RFP) or Invitation for Bids (IFB), allowing the university to comprehensively evaluate potential sidewalk maintenance service providers.
