About this file

Southwestern University has issued a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) seeking environmental consulting firms specializing in asbestos, lead, and mold services for their campus facilities. The RFQ aims to identify qualified providers capable of conducting comprehensive environmental assessments, including surveys, project monitoring, and clearance services across three primary areas: asbestos-containing materials (ACM), lead-based paint (LBP), and mold/moisture intrusion. The university is specifically looking for firms experienced in performing AHERA-compliant and NESHAP surveys, XRF inspections, visual assessments, air and surface sampling, laboratory analysis, abatement project planning, and regulatory compliance reporting.

The document requests detailed information from potential environmental consulting firms, including company background, years in business, relevant licenses and certifications, professional insurance, key personnel credentials, and experience working with higher education or public institutions. Respondents are expected to provide three relevant project examples from the past five years, describe their standard methodologies for assessments and surveys, outline quality assurance/quality control processes, and demonstrate typical response times. While this RFQ is strictly an information-gathering exercise and does not constitute a formal solicitation, it represents Southwestern University's proactive approach to maintaining safe and compliant facilities by identifying potential environmental consulting partners for future service agreements.
