About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) clarification for RFQ 19KU2026Q0013, issued for the AEWA Door & Tile Installation Upgrade project at a U.S. Embassy facility in Kuwait.

The scope of work requires installation of ceramic porcelain floor tiles (Spanish, Italian, or Indian origin, subject to sample approval), a Corian countertop, one transaction counter with oak or approved equivalent cabinet material, new glass doors and windows with double-tempered low-E glazing (6mm + 20mm + 6mm per ANSI Z97.1 1984 safety standards), and aluminum framing. The contractor must remove and reinstall existing steel doors and frames to accommodate new flooring, perform surface repairs and localized touch-up painting of damaged wall areas (full wall repainting excluded), and handle removal and disposal of all demolished materials including existing doors, frames, tiles, and skirting. Existing obstacles will be removed by embassy staff, and removed windows are handed to the client. The project excludes MEP and LV works, electrical device modifications, and performance/payment bonds are not required. Contractors may propose equivalent products from reputable U.S. or European manufacturers subject to government approval. Product data sheets and specifications are preferred with quotation submission, though official physical samples are required post-award prior to contract performance. Workers' compensation insurance per FAR 52.228-3 is required for U.S. citizens and direct-hire employees, with Defense Base Act costs included in the firm-fixed-price quotation. All proposal submissions must include three separate email attachments (Introduction, Technical Proposal, and Price) in unsecured, password-free format. Working hours access requirements are referenced in the main RFQ document.
