About this file

This document is an Amendment (A0001) to a Request for Quotations (RFQ) No. 19JA8025Q0012 for the Installation of Split-type Air-Conditioner at the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo, Japan. The amendment provides a first set of questions and answers clarifying installation details, including confirmation of a new installation with no existing AC unit, requirement to drill new gas pipe holes, need for protective covers in occupied residences, and flexibility in project scheduling.

Key installation specifications include: contractors can park vehicles inside the Mitsui Housing Compound, FAC will provide a small storage space during the project, scaffolding is permitted for minor exterior pipe work, and contractors can work at multiple locations simultaneously provided each site is completed within 5 days. The U.S. Embassy intends to award a firm-fixed-price contract to the responsible company submitting the lowest acceptable quote, with electronic quotation submissions required via email to ChumaMX@state.gov.

Installation of Split-type Air-Conditioner

Question 1:

Is there an existing AC unit at the place where a new AC unit is to be installed?

Answer 1:

No.

Question 2:

New installation as seen during the walk through.

Question 3:

Is it necessary to drill a new hole and conduct an X-ray inspection before the installation?

Or can we use the existing holes?
