About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document dated March 16, 2026, for a lawn replacement project at the U.S. Embassy in Athens, Greece. The document addresses contractor inquiries regarding site access, equipment use, and operational procedures for the project.
The document clarifies that contractors may access the property through paved areas for soil and sod deliveries and may use trucks for soil removal, with the contractor bearing full responsibility for any resulting damage repairs. Standard trucks can typically access the property without difficulty, though contractors must provide vehicle specifications (type and height) for Government confirmation. Small construction machinery such as compact loaders and mini excavators are permitted on-site, with the same damage liability applying to the contractor. For vehicle and machinery access, contractors must submit driver information (full name and personal identification number) and vehicle details (license plate number, color, manufacturer, and model) no later than noon on the preceding day. The Government declined to provide photographs or site layout excerpts due to security restrictions, directing contractors to rely on observations made during site visits for understanding the connection points between upper and lower garden levels.
