About this file

This is a Request for Quotations (RFQ) issued by the U.S. Embassy San Salvador for flat canopy structure renovation services at a U.S. Government residential property (Chief of Mission Residence).

The work scope includes dismantling and removing an existing canopy structure and tarp coverings, then fabricating and installing a new flat steel canopy with double weatherproof tarp covering, intermediate thermal insulation (Prodex/Amanco, minimum 5mm closed-cell polyethylene), and PVC rainwater drainage. The canopy structure shall use 2-inch by 4-inch structural tubing with 14-gauge steel, spaced at 75 centimeters on center with longitudinal reinforcements at 1.50-meter intervals. Installation requires six support posts (4-inch diameter) embedded approximately 50 centimeters into concrete, wall anchoring using steel angle iron, and five Macomber-type reinforcements. The contractor must submit shop drawings, material certifications, a work plan, safety documentation, and as-built drawings upon completion. The complete work must be finished within 35 business days after receiving a signed purchase order. Quotations are due by August 28, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. local San Salvador time, submitted electronically to blandonki@state.gov. A site visit was scheduled for August 24, 2026, at the Complejo Embajada Americana. The Government will award a firm-fixed-price purchase order to the lowest-priced technically acceptable quoter, with evaluation based on technical acceptability (materials and schedule compliance), relevant experience, and price. The estimated contract value does not exceed $30,000. Offerors must be SAM-registered, provide proof of business registration in El Salvador, demonstrate prior construction experience with references, obtain required local licenses and insurance, and possess no adverse criminal record. The contractor is responsible for all labor, materials, equipment, safety compliance per EM 385-1-1 standards, site cleanup, and a one-year warranty on installation and workmanship.
