Summary of SDDOT Paint Supply Truck Specification

This is a specifications document for the South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT) detailing the procurement of one turnkey truck equipment and installation package. The project involves the assembly and complete installation of paint supply truck equipment on a 2026 Freightliner 114SD Plus tandem axle truck chassis to be provided by SDDOT. The equipment package includes a flatbed, hydraulic system, crash attenuator, truck-mounted broom, and programmable message board, all of which must be fully operational and ready for service upon delivery to SDDOT. The vendor is responsible for all mounting, materials, and labor associated with equipment installation at no additional cost to SDDOT. The vendor must complete installation and delivery within 120 days of receiving the truck chassis, with potential late delivery penalties of $100 per day per unit. Bi-weekly progress reports must be submitted to the SDDOT fleet manager, and SDDOT reserves the right to inspect trucks during the build process. A meeting with the SDDOT fleet manager is required after completion of the first truck to verify compliance with specifications before final delivery.

The specifications document does not include explicit pricing information, award dates, or contract term details within the scope of this file. However, the document establishes detailed technical requirements for all equipment components, including the flatbed (96 inches wide, minimum 24 feet long with apitong hardwood flooring), the hydraulically-driven truck-mounted broom (32 inches diameter x 96 inches wide), the MASH-tested crash attenuator (minimum 7 feet 6 inches wide, hydraulically folding to under 13 feet height), and a 12-character programmable message board mounted to the rear flatbed. The vendor must provide electronic manuals (two each of parts, service, and operators manuals), one operators manual with each unit, two sets of attaching instructions, and all equipment must meet current manufacturer standards with standard warranties. All work must comply with federal and state regulations, and any modifications required must be completed at the vendor's expense with SDDOT approval.
