About this file

This is Addendum One to Request for Bid #1921 issued by Kenosha County, Wisconsin for the removal and replacement of walk-in cooler and freezer units in the Joint Services Evidence Room. The addendum clarifies specifications and requirements established in the original RFB issued on January 7, 2019. A pre-bid vendor conference was held on December 12, 2019, and the addendum was dated December 20, 2019. The project scope includes removing existing cooler and freezer equipment and providing and installing new walk-in cooler/freezer units as part of the evidence room remodeling project.

The addendum addresses seven key questions raised during the bidders' meeting, providing clarifications on door hinges (2 per door acceptable), vision ports (none required), temperature sensor and alarm system installation responsibilities (Freezer/Cooler installer to install sensor; Electrical Contractor to supply remote monitoring system per Section 40 78 63), closure panels (none required), and material finishes (stucco galvanized finish preferred over white painted aluminum for both interior and exterior). These clarifications reduce project costs and align specifications with previous similar projects, specifically referencing the morgue interior and exterior finishes as a precedent for material selection.

Questions and Answers:

Q. Part 2.2 - 2c1: They want 3 hinges per door. Typically, it is 2 per door.

A. 2 Hinges per door is acceptable.

Q. 2d1: Do you want vision ports in both walk in doors?

A. No Vision ports required.

Q. 2g: On the plans it talks about the HVAC guy installing a temp sensor in the boxes to monitor alarms. On the docs it says electronic monitoring and remote audible alarm system. Which way you want to go?

A. Refer to Section 40 78 63 for the Alarm Dialer work. The Freezer /

Cooler installer will have to install the temp sensor for the system being supplied by the Electrical Contractor.

Q. 2h: Closure panels and trim. The closure panels usually go to a drop ceiling. I didn’t see a drop ceiling on the plan. Do you want them to go all the way to the concrete ceiling or leaving them open?

A. No closure panels required.

Q. 3a: Unexposed exterior finish you want stucco pattern. What about the exposed exterior?

A. Use a stucco finish on all exposed areas.

Q. 3b: Interior finish white painted aluminum. This will add a cost. In the morgue interior and exterior were stucco galv finish and matched each other.

A. White paint is not required, using stucco galv finish is preferred.
