About this file

This is Amendment #1 to Request for Bid (RFB) #19-0068 issued by the University of Wisconsin-Madison Purchasing Services for the procurement of an Electron Spin Resonance (ESR) Spectrometer System. The amendment addresses bidder questions and revises Attachment B specifications. The ESR spectrometer must be a benchtop system with a footprint not exceeding 15.75" x 10.5" x 7.75" and weighing less than 100 lbs, featuring a signal-to-noise ratio of 1000:1 or better and the ability to detect concentrations as low as 10pM. The instrument must operate in multiple orientations, accommodate a liquid helium cryostat for ultralow temperature measurements, and provide flow-through capability. Bidders must submit a completed specification table indicating "yes" or "no" for each requirement, with detailed written explanations required for any "no" responses explaining how specification differences would affect product performance. The University reserves the right to determine acceptability of any deviations.

The bid package requires inclusion of specified accessories and standards with the ESR system, including four or more calibration reference dosimeters, sample holders, sample tubes for 4mm alanine pellets, a sample holder and positioning system for 3mm sample tubes, and at least 500 alanine pellets. Bid prices and terms must remain firm for sixty days from the date of bid opening. Amendment #1 must be signed and returned with the bid submission to avoid disqualification. Award determinations will be made as soon as possible after bid opening, with the bid abstract remaining confidential until after award determination. Inquiries regarding this procurement should be directed to Janet Bresnahan, Procurement Specialist, Senior UW Purchasing, at 608-262-6335 or janet.bresnahan@wisc.edu.
