About this file

This is Addendum 1 for a solicitation by the Minnesota Department of Military Affairs for the Removal and Recycling of Mattresses at Camp Ripley. The contract seeks to remove and recycle approximately 1,500-1,600 twin-size mattresses (38"x75"), with an estimated removal rate of 200-400 mattresses per month. The solicitation was issued with a response due date of March 11, 2025, at 2:00 PM CT, and requires electronic submission through the Supplier Portal. Bidders are to quote a lump sum price for the entire project, with the ability to use their own or Camp Ripley staff to load mattresses, and CONEX boxes can be used for short-term storage on-site.

The addendum provides clarification on several key operational details, including confirmation that 48-52 ft tractor trailers can access the loading area, live loads are acceptable (with loading taking 2-3 hours), and a forklift and operator will be available to assist with loading. The Department of Military Affairs will award the contract to the lowest responsible bidder meeting specifications and terms. Contractors must supply labor to haul away, unload, and recycle the mattresses, while Camp Ripley staff will assist with initial loading. Bidders needing technical assistance can contact the SWIFT Contractor Assistance Helpdesk at 651.201.8100, Option 1.
