B.2 SERVICES AND PRICES/COSTS – Addendum to SF 1449, blocks 19/20 B.2.1 Description of Services The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) National Center for Toxicological Research (NCTR) requires on-site Animal Care, Technical Procedures, Formulation, and Veterinary Care Services. The Contractor shall provide support services to NCTR’s animal research program, which includes but is not limited to the provision of quality care to all research animals, sanitation of all animal care and diet preparation/formulation facilities, provision of protocol-specified technical procedures, provision of veterinary care to the nonhuman primate colony, and provision of formulation services (receipt, storage, formulation, packaging, and distribution of animal diets and test articles).
Ancillary tasks necessary to accomplish these services are included (e.g., quality control, occupational safety and health, inventory control, equipment maintenance, development and maintenance of standard operating procedures, and a comprehensive training program). The need for these services is paramount as the preponderance of NCTR’s research mission can only be accomplished through animal research. In addition, major funding sources for the Center’s research program, such as the National Toxicology Program, mandate animal-based research projects.
Such projects are highly regulated and demand exemplary execution in accordance with (IAW) Attachment 1- Performance Work Statement (PWS).
