About this file
This is Addendum Two to the bid documents for Fire Station 40, issued by the Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners, Facilities Development and Operations Department, Procurement & Project Implementation Group on April 27, 2021. The addendum modifies the original specifications for a construction project identified as Project Number 16214 and Architect's Project Number 18-031. The document revises technical specifications for four-fold metal doors and raceways, updates architectural drawings, and modifies special conditions related to concrete paver specifications. Four-fold metal doors must be tested and approved for high-velocity hurricane zones up to 120 psf and comply with Florida Building Code 2020, 7th Edition, Missile Level-E impact rating. The doors are to be operated by overhead-mounted electro-mechanical operators with comprehensive control systems including programmable logic controllers, safety features, photo eyes, and radio controls. Raceways must comply with the National Electrical Code and include rigid steel conduit, electrical metallic tubing, flexible conduit, plastic conduit, wireways, cable tray, and tubular runway systems with specified materials and manufacturers. Concrete pavers are specified as Belgard 12" x 12" Limestone color for field applications and 6" x 12" Belgard Slate color for borders, or Palm Beach County-approved equivalents.
Bidders must acknowledge receipt of Addendum Two and all previously issued addendums by signing the acknowledgment section and attaching it to bid forms and contract documents. The four-fold door manufacturer basis of design is Door Engineering and Manufacturing's FF701 Series with Florida Product Approval #FL32280.3, though equal products by other manufacturers approved in advance and compliant with Florida Building Code are acceptable. Steel materials must meet ASTM specifications, and all exposed steel surfaces require zinc-rich primer and polyurethane top coat finishes. Door installation requires comprehensive submittals including manufacturer's technical product data, installation instructions, fabrication drawings, and reference lists of five successful installations completed within the preceding two years. Professional engineer-sealed certification verifying design compliance with Florida Building Code 2020, 7th Edition, and independent testing laboratory reports are required prior to other submittals. The manufacturer shall provide a minimum one-year limited warranty for material and workmanship from substantial completion. All conduit installation must follow the National Electrical Code with specific requirements for conduit sizing, routing, support spacing, and material selection based on application location and environmental conditions.
