Section 4; Paragraph 4.1; Paragraph

4.1.5; Paragraph 4.1.5.1

Confirming that a physical address is necessary for Veritone but that it does not have to be in Washington D.C., and/or that the Veritone Program Manager does not have to reside in the DOJ office in Washington D.C. and be 100% dedicated to the DOJ BPA Program Management responsibilities, based out of the DOJ office address listed on page 8 in

Paragraph 4.1.5. If the DOJ BPA requires Veritone to have an office and 100% full time resource in Washington D.C., then please clarify how that program manager function will be funded ‐ as a separate charge or funded as part of the purchase of the Veritone solutions through this DOJ BPA? The program manager will be a fully‐burdened rate.

1 Attachment 1 ‐ Pricing Table

Does the DOJ want pricing for any of the Veritone applications or other cognitive engines (for example

Veritone Redact, Veritone Illuminate, optical character recognition cognitive engines, speaker separation cognitive engines, re‐identification cognitive engines, logo detection cognitive engines, etc)? Please quote all tools that can statisfy this requirement.

Good afternoon, I had a question about RFQ 15JPSS23Q00000033 for

Automated Translation and

Transcription Platform Services which was posted on SAM.gov on

March 29. The notification notes this is a solicitation, however upon review of the documents, it seems to be a notification of intent to sole source. Could you confirm if this opportunity is an open solicitation or if it indeed notification to sole source this opportunity to Veritone.

This is an open solicitation.

For the DoJ‐Criminal Div. “Language

Services” planned recompete

Solicitation# 15JPSS23N00000017, how is it different and distinct from this procurement? There appears to be overlap and/or possible duplication. Understandably, DoJ and the Criminal Division may be looking at options based on different use cases for translation services, but I wanted to gain clarification. This is a separate solicitation effort.

Our intent is to partner with

Veritone (meeting set for next week) as a Sub‐contractor/vendor supplier.

Can the 4/12 response deadline be extended by 1‐2 week(s), please?

The revised deadline is April 19, 2023 at 12:00 PM ET. Please review the amendment for the update.

Can the pricing table spreadsheet have empty columns, and inserted comments to clarify a non‐response and/or response? Yes. Please add it where necessary.

10; 23; 53‐54

We have been working with a law enforcement division in the DOD that is looking for a vehicle for similar investigatory work as discussed in this contract. We understand per section 10.2.7.DOJ‐03.4.C.5.1 on pages 53‐54 in the BPA

SOW that DOD agencies can potentially be supported by this

BPA.

There are two sections that are inconsistent as to the contract ceiling. Section 5.1.7 on page 10 states “The maximum aggregate amount of all BPA Calls issued under this contract shall not exceed $15,000,000.00 for the entire term of the contract, including all options which may be exercised.” However, Section 9.1 on page 23 states “The government estimates, but does not guarantee, that the potential cumulative volume of purchases associated with all BPAs issued is $15,000,000.00 This is not a maximum ceiling amount; it is strictly an estimated value and may be exceeded at the discretion of the government on a unilateral basis.”

Please confirm ‐ is there a maximum contract ceiling for this

BPA, and if so how much could the Department of Defense

(DOD) add to the contract?

The maximum contract ceiling is $15,000,000.00. The DoD is not considered as a customer for this requirement. The respective section refers to the DD Form 254 process.

4.3.c

Tasks

Re: “automated speech to text transcription”: Is the source language always English? Will editing/proofreading services be required?

No, the source language will not always be English. No, editing/proofreading services are not required although algorithms included are preferred.

Can the government please clarify whether this RFQ is being solicited as a sole source to Veritone, a limited source competition among Veritone resellers, or an unrestricted competition under FAR Part 13.106‐1? This is an open competition.

If the government is restricting competition (e.g., sole source or brand name/limited source competition), can you please provide the JOFOC. This is not restricted.

If the opportunity is unrestricted, will the government please provide a one‐week extension to allow offerors time to prepare responsive bids (e.g., obtain past performance questionnaire).

The revised deadline is April 19, 2023 at 12:00 PM ET. Please review the amendment for the update.

We’re very interested in competing for the subject matter contract. Veritone has multiple team members who are responsible for this solicitation out of the country for the next two weeks, so I was wondering if the due date for this proposal could be pushed back from April 12, until the end of the month. Please let me know if that would be possible.
