Questions / Answers

Yes, it could be fixed mounted as long as there are servicing access doors or panels.

Must provide easy access for all maintenance of the generator.

9. MCPV ELECTRICAL

a. Generator

i. 30 Kilowatt Quiet Diesel (Or larger as needed)

vi. Mounted on slide out for ease of service (fluid fill/change) If configured with one-side service and access doors/panels are provided, can it be fixed mounted? Same question for generator on SCIF Trailer Section 10.a.vi. and Satellite Trailer Section 11.a.vi.

No

i. Mast (MCPV trailer) Is the mast inclusive of the 53’ trailer length?

3.a.i. says length does not include A/C and Generator

No

15. INTERIOR (MCPV Trailer)

a. General Layout

b. Flooring

Ease of changing tires, facilitates leveling on uneven surfaces where stabilizing jacks are insufficient.

3.a.vii: Minimum four point leveling system – electric/hydraulic 1. Must be capable of lifting the trailer Is there a reason the leveling system needs to lift the vehicle off the ground?

Alternate means of stowage are not acceptable. Ease of use will be a determining factor.

g. I/O Panel (MCPV)

iv. Pull out shelf below for phone or computer placement Is a fold-out or clip-on shelf acceptable?

Alternate means of stowage are not acceptable. Ease of use will be a determining factor.

6. EXTERIOR (ALL TRAILERS)

f. Steps

ii. Retract under the frame or in the vehicle when stowed integral to the design of the vehicle Are alternate means of stowage acceptable?

Please add as much chamfer as the design allows

4. SCIF TRAILER CHASSIS

iv. Rear chamfer for tail-end clearance Is there a specific angle of departure required?

Questions / Answers

.090 is acceptable.

Item 6. Exterior. Calls for .125” aluminum skin on all trailers. This is an unusual requirement for these types of trailers and adds weight. On the heavy duty side, standard on a Gooseneck trailer is .050 riveted and .090 smooth skin on a 53’ semi trailer.

No Do you need an interior vestibule in the SCIF trailer.

The IDC-705 Tech Spec lays out all of the requirements for a SCIF. FBI shielding standard is using R foil Ultra radiant barrier foil; this exact product is approved for our shielding with all seams double folded three inches wide and foil tape on all six sides and built within the ICD/ICS 705 tech specs. I have included the spec sheet.

What dB and frequency level is required for the shielding on the SCIF trailer? This has a significant cost/construction method impact.

We are open to the possibility of mounting the generator on the tractor. Please provide plans/options for both configurations. One with the generator mounted on the front of the trailer and one mounted on the tractor.

our preference would be to NOT have the generator mounted inside the gooseneck area.

Item 9 MCPV Electrical. The current units have the generators mounted on the tractors. Is it preferred to have the generator trailer mounted? If so, is there a preference as to location? Options are typically exterior front wall or interior in the gooseneck area in a dog house. If exterior, Bard HVAC’s cannot be used as they no longer make horizontal units. Much more costly units from other manufacturers will be required. If inside, less costly vertical HVAC (Bard) units can be used but you take up interior square footage. Tractor-mounted avoids the downside from either scenario.

No, it is NOT GFE.Confirming that the satellite dish is GFE.

Yes, as long as they have a minimum speed rating of "N" and are sufficient for the maximum load of the vehicle.

Synopsis/Solicitation item 3., MCPV Trailer Chassis, item d. calls for 11R24.5 tires. 22.5 are much more common and readily available for replacement. Is this acceptable?

Yes, PoP date is based on a tentative award date of 07/01/2020-06/30/2021 (base year)

Is the PoP for Line Item 0001 supposed to read 07/01/2020 – 06/30/2021?

Questions / Answers

Yes Section 6.o.ii. Is an “or equivalent” acceptable?

Complete set in each I/O panel

Section 6.g (Exterior I/O panels for the

MCPV)

Are the items listed under 6.g split between the Curbside and Streetside I/O panels? Or, will there be a complete set of the items listed in each I/O panel?

Yes Section 2.c.xvi. Whelen---is an “or equivalent or better product” acceptable?

No, for fleet conformity reasons, Extron is requested.

Section 12.j.i - Extron control components, and user interface. If we can prove compliance with performance, would an equivalent system be acceptable?

Please contact Routing Solutions, dan@routingsolutions.net

Section 12.e.i – FitRT 1250R – Based on our initial conversation with the manufacturer on this product, we were not able to find the part number. Please provide a spec sheet for this product.

No Section 6.p.ii.1 Does this imply there will be two (2) doors on the SCIF trailer?

Preference is carpeted floors.

Section 15.a.b.ii and 16. Please confirm the request for carpeted floors. As a manufacturer’s standard, we would not recommend carpet for longevity and the ability to easily clean.

Quantity of doors will depend on the design of the trailer. All doors which could give access to the interior of the trailer and/or equipment racks will need to be keyed alike with Medeco locks.

Section 15.a.iv. Could you confirm the quantity of doors and which doors will be keyed alike?

Optimum would be 50.

Section 15.a.iv.1. If the minimum number of workstations to be a minimum of 48, do you have an optimum number of workstations.

Proposal Submission is no later than 1:00 PM EST on Friday, July 3, 2020

The SF1449 States the Offers are due June 30, 2020, while the RFP document and Beta.sam.gov state the due date as July 3, 2020. Please confirm the due date.
