15BFA025Q00000139 Acid and Bi-Carb additional information: USMCFP Springfield’s response to vendor query

Are there any special delivery requirements for the delivery driver to be certified to deliver to the prison?

Not to my knowledge. As long as they have the appropriate and valid vehicle license and comply with on-site signage / directions / instructions, they should be cleared to deliver.

It says the delivery will only be accepted on the second Tuesday of each month, can this vary a day or two, depending on shipping/weather?

Delivery will be accepted Monday - Friday during posted delivery hours except for Federal Holidays/observed holidays. The target date is the second Tuesday of each month, but we understand that many factors may influence the delivery date, including a delay in the government's submission of the delivery order.

Do you know of a local warehouse you currently use that knows your delivery requirements that we may be able to use as well?

No. Our warehouse is on-site, outside of the secure perimeter of the prison. I am not aware of any local warehouse that utilizes similar procedures or has similar requirements.

Springfield does have a delivery dock. The driver does not need to bring a pallet jack, provided pallets are loaded properly, not overloaded/damaged, and have standard dimensions.

How much notice would we receive each month advising us of the quantities needed for the coming month?

Delivery is typically expected within 14 calendar days ARO for non-rush/non-emergency orders. Delivery of rush/emergency orders is requested within/no later than 7 calendar days. Rush/Emergency orders have not been common practice and are intended for truly emergency situations.
