Question 1:
What will be the entry procedure daily for Contractors?
CLARIFICATION: Please refer to Page 5 of SOW
Question 2:
Will the contractor be required to go through training? If so, when and what duration should be accounted for?
CLARIFICATION: Please refer to Page 6 of SOW
Question 3:
How much time should be considered for NCIC processing? How many pages should the contractor anticipate completing for the NCIC background check?
CLARIFICATION: Initial NCIC background check requires a copy of the drivers license and fill out one sheet of form BP- A0660. The following forms will be used: OF-30, OF-612, A0592 Drug Testing Req., DOJ-555 Disclosure and Authorization and the I-9. All forms are around 30 pages in total.
All contractors must attend FBOP Contractor Training typically held on Saturdays. Fingerprinting, photos and will be conducted on this day. All documentation and approval must be completed with-in 30 days of contract award. The BOP will schedule a time for the training. Any additional information, refer to page 6 of the SOW.
Question 4:
Are there any additional entry requirements the contractor will be subject to for entering through the military base checkpoint?
CLARIFICATION: FMC Carswell no longer utilizes the military base to enter the institution. We currently utilize the rear entrance, located across the street from 1200 Meandering Road, FT Worth, TX 76127.
Question 5:
Will the Contractor be allowed to store equipment and tools near the project site?
CLARIFICATION: Please refer to Page 5 of SOW
Question 6:
Do the handrails need to be prepped and painted?
CLARIFICATION: Please refer to Page 2 of SOW.
Question 7:
What requirement will there be for temporary fencing?
CLARIFICATION: Please refer to Page 1 of SOW.
Question 8:
What mix design will be required to achieve the 4,000-psi concrete? Will this be a small aggregate due to the 2 ½” thickness?
CLARIFICATION: Basic mix ratio for a cubic yard: 611lbs. of cement, 1450 lbs. of sand with use of light aggregate.
Complete basic ratio of 1:2:4.
Question 9:
Is the Owner considered to be responsible for the Engineering/Design of the provided method? Will the contractor be responsible for any other means/methods of providing signed/stamped engineered/design drawings?
CLARIFICATION: The contractor will be responsible of providing a solution/design with engineered approved specs.
Question 10:
Please confirm that all areas applicable steel areas on West and East Trinity building will be sandblasted.
CLARIFICATION: Please refer to page 2 of SOW.
Question 11:
Can a specification be provided for the “vented metal soffit panel”? What sort of metal? Dimensions? Gauge?
CLARIFICATION: Metal: aluminum, Gauge: 24, Size: 24” Length x 12” Width or Continuous x 12” Width
Question 12:
There are 3 interior welded joint locations notated on 2/A-4. Which location is required for the demolition of the beam removal as per Drawing Work Notes #4? If the interior welded joint located in the interior of the building is to be demoed to, will this compromise the structural integrity of the second floor? Should interior shoring be anticipated?
CLARIFICATION: Shoring may be considered for the open web joist when replacing the existing outer 4” x 2.5” angle iron. Only the outer angle iron will be to be replaced where located on pages A-2 and A-3. All interior web joists are in good conditions.
Question 13:
What are the requirements for the gutters and downspouts? Size and gauge?
CLARIFICATION: Please refer to page 2 of the SOW.
Question 14:
Who will be the responsible party for any relocation of any utilities?
CLARIFICATION: FMC Carswell is responsible for relocating utility lines.
Question 15:
How much sheetrock is currently demoed that the contractor will be responsible for replacing?
CLARIFICATION: There is currently 96 sqft of ceiling sheetrock that has been demolished.
