Question in Reference to 15BCTS22Q00000027 (Telehealth MAT Services)

Question:

Operational Requirement – Urine Drug Testing (UDT): The Quoter must conduct urine drug testing to offenders receiving MAT services.

a. Submit procedures for utilizing Urine Drug Testing (UDT) to monitor offenders for adherence to MAT medication.

RESPONSE: Attach UDT procedures to monitor offenders receiving MAT. ☐

Given that these services will all be via telehealth, will we be permitted access to the halfway house UA’s as we are now, and would this meet the requirement for this operational requirement?

Response: The contractor shall have Urine Drug Testing (UDT) procedures in place to monitor an offender's adherence to medication and for the use of illicit and controlled substances. The use of correctional UDTs, i.e. drug testing conducted by the Residential Reentry Center (RRC) where the offender is placed, may be utilized if made available by the respective RRC and if useful information is provided. Correctional UDTs should only be one part of a contractor's drug monitoring procedures.
