Additional Clarification:
We would like to use an EQUAL breaker from another manufacture (EATON) to the Square D NW. This breaker meets all of the specification requirements. This breaker is designed to rack into the existing cradle without any bus modifications or extended outage requirements and has ERMS. Is that acceptable?
A bid can be submitted using any equivalent breaker. The winning bidder will have to go through a submittal process that MCC Chicago will have to approve or deny. To maintain the safety and security of the building, the breaker MUST have all of the following for MCC to consider it an equivalent breaker. maintain the safety and security of the building.
-This offer will consist of a cradle-in-cradle design utilizing the Masterpact NW drawout circuit breaker. The cradle-in-cradle concept will consist of an outer frame that will fit directly in the DSII circuit breaker cell without bus modification. Requires removal of the gas shields only. Mounted within the outer frame will be the Masterpact NW Breaker and Cradle. The new breaker will utilize the Masterpact NW racking capabilities for future maintenance operations. Masterpact does not communicate with OEM 810D ZSI/Communications. The solution will allow for ease of interchangeability of breakers of same rating and will be flush mounted to the existing infrastructure without need of extension of outer breaker compartment door.
-MCC Chicago is requiring a powerlogic trip unit.
-This offer will consist of a cradle-in-cradle design utilizing the Masterpact NW drawout circuit breaker. The cradle-in-cradle concept will consist of an outer frame that will fit directly in the DSII circuit breaker cell without bus modification and provide safety shutters that will cover live bus stabs when the breaker is racked out.
New Question about the PLC.
We would like to use an EQUAL PLC to the MODICON M340. Since the PLC is being completely replaced which requires new hardware and software we would like to use a different PLC. We would like to use the SIEMENS S7-1200 PLC, This PLC meets all of the specification requirements and there will be no difference in operation or performance from the M340. Is this acceptable?
MCC Chicago already received approval from the bureau of prisons computer services department to for this particular PLC. Obtaining an additional approval for the SIEMENS product would significantly delay the project.
