About this file
This document outlines delivery requirements for food service items at the Federal Bureau of Prisons, Federal Correctional Complex Hazelton facility in West Virginia, specifically related to a meat solicitation (15B12125Q00000016) for FY25 Quarter 3. The requirements establish strict temperature controls for different food categories: non-frozen perishables must be between 34-40°F, canned goods above 34°F but not frozen, and frozen foods at 0°F or below.
The specifications mandate that all deliveries must be palletized unless pre-arranged with warehouse staff, and all certified religious diet items must display the Kosher Symbol on individual packages. The document details inspection procedures, including a three-day conditional receipt period for examination and testing. Unacceptable items must be retrieved at vendor expense within two days of notification, and products not picked up within two weeks will be disposed of by warehouse staff. All items must comply with BOP National Menu Specifications, and evidence of prior thawing will result in immediate refusal.
