About this file

This Market Research Questionnaire seeks potential contractors for an emergency chiller replacement project at the Federal Prison Camp (FPC) Alderson in West Virginia. The Department of Justice Bureau of Prisons requires the removal and replacement of two existing McQuay chillers (110-ton and 40-ton) with new chillers of equal or greater cooling capacity, with a project performance period estimated at 252 calendar days. The solicitation is targeted at small businesses in the Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning Contractors category (NAICS code 238220), with a small business size standard of $19.0 million, and interested contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM).

Key details include a response deadline of April 14, 2025, with the solicitation to be distributed exclusively through sam.gov. Potential contractors are asked to complete a questionnaire covering subcontracting levels, small business program eligibility, performance timeline, bid preparation time, estimated pricing (ranging from $500,000 to $1,000,000), and post-award construction start date. The document emphasizes that all individuals working on-site must undergo a security clearance investigation, which may take 60 calendar days or longer to complete. Contractors must provide company information and are advised to carefully review and update their SAM registration to ensure compliance with size standards and NAICS code requirements.
