6. The vertical limit for pruning cuts shall be listed in submitted work orders and measured from the roadway surface centerline and extend outward selectively to the horizontal limit noted in Horizontal / Vertical Parameters attachment. The Vertical limit will be augmented for safety, sight distances and visibility needs on a case by case basis. In areas where sight distance in vertical curves is required pruning shall occur at any height required to maximize visibility for the traveling public. Specific guidance shall be given in areas where sight distance requires additional pruning. VDOT will make efforts to give the contractor advance warning for any areas that will require additional height.

7. Evergreens shall not be pruned until VDOT has been notified and agreed to the pruning method and procedure planned on by the Contractor.

8. Total pruning of individual trees shall ensure the natural form and shape of each species is maintained additionally, pruning shall not exceed removal of more than 20% of a tree crown.

9. All dead, diseased, decayed and hanging limbs greater than 4 inches over the roadway at any height shall be removed.

10. All Official Signs shall be “Day-lighted” in accordance with Attachment F.

Fill Slope - Small tree/Brush removal shall be performed on all slopes from the backside of ditch line/guardrail/shoulder break to the maximum distance listed on work order.

3. No debris shall be left on ROW or adjacent areas without prior approval from the CA or their designee. (Including

Chips)

4. No cut debris shall be left on shoulders overnight or when crews are not working.
