About this file

This is a vendor inquiry and program response document for a 2.54-meter buoy frame and bridle procurement. The document contains five vendor clarification questions and corresponding program responses addressing technical specifications and drawing discrepancies.

The vendor inquiries identified the following specification gaps and inconsistencies: (1) missing size specifications for zinc anodes listed on drawing ATBDL2.0-F1001, item 7; (2) incomplete specifications for a lead brick weight on drawing ATBDL2.0-F1001, item 4; (3) conflicting dimensions on drawing ATHULL2.0-F2003, item 13 regarding aluminum rectangular tubing (listed as 3" x 3" x .25" versus 3" x 4" x .25"); (4) unclear placement of item 8 on drawing ATHULL2.0-N1002; and (5) unavailable durometer specification and assembly method questions for rubber gasket on drawing ATHULL2.0-N2007. The program responses provided the following clarifications: zinc anodes are Control Number 14024, manufactured by Harbor Anodes with NSN ZOI-6A and part number ZOI-6A; lead brick specifications are Control Number 1909, 24 lbs, with dimensions of 2" x 4" x 8"; the aluminum rectangular tubing dimension discrepancy was corrected to 3" x 4" x .25"; updated drawings for ATHULL2.0-N1002 were attached; and 50-durometer rubber is acceptable with spliced assembly to form a continuous ring. Three updated drawings were attached as attachments.

VENDOR INQUIRY FOR 2.54M BUOY FRAME & BRIDLE:

1. On drawing number ATBDL2.0-F1001, item 7 has a lisƟng for zinc anodes. There is no size specificaƟon that we can find for that line item.

2. On drawing number ATBDL2.0-F1001, item 4 is a lisƟng for a lead brick weight, it gives overall size of item, but we are lacking a full specificaƟon for this as well.

3. On drawing number ATHULL2.0-F2003, item number 13 lists a 3" x 3" x .25 thick aluminum rect tubing, but the drawing for this item has the size as 3" x 4" x .25" rect tubing. Can you please clarify?

4. On drawing number ATHULL2.0-N1002, item number 8, we cannot find it on the callout on the print as to where it goes.

5. On drawing number ATHULL2.0-N2007, the callout is for 45 durometer rubber, we can only find 40 or 50 durometer. Also, is this ok to use 1.5" wide rubber and splice to size, or does this need to be a solid one-piece gasket?

PROGRAM RESPONSES:

1. This is the informaƟon our database has related to the anodes:

a. CONTROL NUMBER: 14024, DESCRIPTION: ZINC ANODES (FOR BRIDLE), MANUFACTURER: HARBOR ANODES, NSN: ZOI-6A, P/N: ZOI-6A

2. This is the informaƟon our database has related to the lead bricks. AƩached is an updated drawing with dimensions of lead brick on page 2.

a. CONTROL NUMBER: 1909, DESCRIPTION: LEAD BRICK, 24LBS, 2X4X8”

3. That was a typo. It was supposed to be 3" x 4" x .25" rect tubing. I have aƩached the updated drawing of ATHULL2.0-F2003.

4. I have aƩached the updated drawings of ATHULL2.0-N1002.

5. 50 durometer is fine. In the past, the gasket has been spliced to make a conƟnuous ring.
