About this file
This document is a Statement of Work (SOW) for a federal contract opportunity to provide temporary traffic control services at the Canyon Ferry Dam in Montana. The SOW outlines the objective to procure services for placing signage and automated traffic control devices to safely allow a single lane closure across the dam during drain cleaning work, which is anticipated to last up to 17 weeks between April 29, 2024, and April 28, 2025.
The key requirements include mobilization, initial system setup and training of on-site personnel, and providing traffic control signals and signage for 17 weeks. The work must comply with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) Part 6 requirements. The contractor is expected to provide an automated traffic control system that can be operated by Bureau of Reclamation personnel to transition between single lane traffic control and an amber flashing light during non-working hours.

Canyon Ferry Dam Temporary Traffic Control
Traffic Control
CANYON FERRY DAM
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC CONTROL STATEMENT OF WORK
PART 1 GENERAL
1.01 INTRODUCTION
The Canyon Ferry Dam was constructed from 1949-1954. The Bureau of Reclamation constructed and continues to operate and maintain Canyon Ferry Dam.
The Bureau of Reclamation plans to clean the drains located within the dam. To accomplish this work, specialty equipment must be staged along the dam crest during working hours. Montana Highway 284 crossed the crest of Canyon Ferry Dam. The staging of this equipment will require one lane of that highway to be closed while work is occurring.
The proposed project consists of performing all necessary work to efficiently provide an automated traffic control system that automatically controls traffic through an open single lane. It also requires that the system be set up and Bureau of Reclamation employees be trained in how to control the system.
