For Informational Purposes Only:
A) This amendment provides Pump Unit #1 As-Built drawings for informational purposes only.
B) This amendment provides Assembly Drawing 4783232-D for informational purposes only.
C) This amendment provides the Government’s responses to questions received for informational purposes only:
1) Question:
The salient pump characteristic specifies a Peerless pump model capable of delivering
5000 gpm at maximum 65 ft of head at 1800 rpm. However, as per attached Peerless curve, the
18HH model is not capable of delivering that duty point, please see below. Can you please clarify if the duty point is correct?
Answer:
The duty point specified in the salient characteristics is correct per original pump curves and “as-run” pump curves specified for units 1-5. Please reference the attached file
“18HH – Preliminary and As-Run Characteristics.”
2) Question:
The motor salient characteristics specify stainless steel Motor shell and shaft to withstand water pH, are cast iron steel ends acceptable?
Answer:
No, cast iron steel ends are not acceptable. Please match salient characteristics.
3) Question:
I would like to verify the size of the good casing or the size of the clear well that the pump is going to be set into, the pump that National is proposing has 20” bowls rather than
18” bowls, and I want to make sure that is acceptable.
Answer:
Existing pump casing inside-diameter is 32.0-in per attached file “18HH – Assembly
Drawing 4783232-D.” Please consider the existing motor/pump shroud outside-diameter of
24.0-in and propose equipment matching salient characteristics. Equipment which is incompatible with existing components will be disapproved.
4) Question(s):
Also, the pump that National is proposing is going to produce 77 feet of head at the
5000gpm point on the curve.
a. I need to know the inside diameter of the well that the pump will be set in as National is proposing a larger diameter pump that would be equivalent to what was requested.
Answer:
Well inside-diameter is 32.0-inches.
b. I also need to know if a pump that produces 77 feet of the head rather than the requested
65 feet of the head would be problematic.
Answer:
Please propose a pump matching salient characteristics. Reference the attached file
“18HH – Preliminary and As-Run Characteristics.”
5) Question:
Is this for a new pump? If so what pump model is it for? Is this for a replacement pump, if so, please provide pump model and serial number?
Answer:
This procurement is for a complete replacement pump/motor assembly matching salient characteristics for a Serial Number 257041-45 Peerless Pump unit and Hitachi 125HP, 1800
RPM, 3PH, 60Hz, 460V motor.
