About this file

This amendment to a solicitation modifies the pricing schedules and specifications for a membrane filtration system. The Bureau of Reclamation seeks to procure a skid-mounted membrane filtration system with a minimum of three trains for the Leadville Mine Treatment Plant in Colorado. The system must meet specified treated water quality levels and design requirements for permeate production capacity, recovery rate, and flux. It must include membranes, pumps, piping, instrumentation, controls, and cleaning systems. The amendment revises the price schedules to include optional extended warranty periods and storage costs. It also updates the specifications section governing the membrane filtration system components and performance testing requirements.

1.02 DEFINITIONS

A. Backwash: Frequent periods of reversed flow direction across membrane, with or without added chemicals, from permeate to feed to remove accumulated solids from membrane surface.

B. Clean-in-Place (CIP): Any instance in which a membrane train is taken offline and subjected to cleaning chemicals to mitigate scaling or fouling constituents and decreases in membrane flux and/or increases in Transmembrane Pressure (TMP).

C. Feed: Influent water to Membrane Filtration System.

D. Flux: Permeate flow rate divided by membrane filtration surface area per measure of time.

E. Functional Testing: Tests necessary to demonstrate installed Membrane Filtration System functions as specified and operates in manner intended. Functional testing is prerequisite to performance testing for Membrane Filtration System specified to have a performance test.

F. Installing Contractor: Entity, under separate contract with Government, whose responsibilities include installation of Membrane Filtration System provided under this contract.

G. Manufacturer: Party responsible for design, fabrication, delivery, startup and commissioning, training, and warranty of Membrane Filtration System.
