About this file

This document is a Vendor Questions file for the Jordan River Weed Control Solicitation (140R4025Q0049), issued by the Department of the Interior Bureau of Reclamation. The document provides responses to five vendor inquiries regarding the weed control project, covering key logistical and operational details. Specific responses clarify that the project involves approximately 180 acres, with all locations accessible by vehicle, and most areas open for site visits except for certain properties adjacent to 10600 South in South Jordan.

The solicitation includes a unique requirement for an Ecologist/Science Advisor role, whose primary function is to provide guidance on effective weed treatment techniques while minimizing damage to desirable vegetation. The document also indicates a shift in reporting requirements, noting that while past contractors submitted multiple hard copies of reports, the current solicitation will accept electronic copies. These details suggest a nuanced approach to integrated vegetation management that balances targeted weed control with environmental preservation.

Jordan River Weed Control Solicitation 140R4025Q0049 Vendor Questions

1. Total Acreage

Response: Total acreage is approximately 180 acres.

2. Are these locations that need service accessible by vehicle?

Response: All the locations are accessible by vehicle.

3. Can we do a site visit on our own?

Response: Yes, with the exception of the properties immediately adjacent to 10600 South in South Jordan, which are closed to public access. Those lands can be viewed from adjacent properties, but unpermitted access isn’t allowed.

4. There is a line item for "Ecologist/Science Advisor"... what exactly is that for? We can't find any supporting/clarifying information in the specifications regarding that role?

Response: The ecologist/science advisor role is intended to provide guidance on effective treatment techniques for the various locations throughout the properties. This role is particularly important in minimizing damage to desirable vegetation while still effectively treating the target weeds.

5. What are the reproduction line items? Is that for making copies? If so, what are the copies?

Response: Past contractors have submitted multiple hard copies of their reports. For our current purposes, an electronic copy is sufficient.
