About this file
This document contains questions and answers from a janitorial contract walkthrough for cleaning services at two Bureau of Reclamation locations in Provo and Pleasant Grove, Utah. The contract covers comprehensive cleaning services for 46,000 square feet at the Provo location and 1,000 square feet at the Pleasant Grove location, with specific requirements including floor cleaning, carpet maintenance, bathroom upkeep, and cubicle dusting. Key details include cleaning frequency (high traffic areas cleaned every two weeks), flooring composition (Provo: 95% carpet, 5% vinyl; Pleasant Grove: 10% carpet, 90% vinyl), and strict personnel requirements (all workers must be US Citizens with PIV cards).
Additional contract specifications include weekly cubicle dusting, quarterly floor stripping in specific areas, cleaning of high-traffic zones and entryways, and annual upholstery cleaning for fabric office chairs and couches. The contractor is responsible for providing all cleaning supplies and equipment, and must ensure security when performing tasks like using van-mounted vacuums. The previous contract was valued at $439,938.00, and the new solicitation requires submission of key personnel resumes, past performance references, and pricing for the base year and four option years. Background checks are required, and there are no expedited clearance processes.

A: Contractor will be responsible for ensuring that no unauthorized personnel enter the building when doors are propped open for any reason.
2. What specific areas of flooring will need to be stripped and resealed, what is the frequency of this task, and will appliances (refrigerators, vending racks) need to be moved to access flooring beneath? Quarterly stripping seems excessive.
