Questions and Answers
1. Can you provide additional plans for this project?
The water bladder would be used to divert flows to a nearby breach and the water would then exit several hundred yards away from the construction zone. The water bladder is not being placed in tidal fluctuations where tide change could cause significant changes in depths and would not be used alone as the primary water control feature for this application. A 74" controllable mud/water depth meets requirement needs and is being requested at 150' length.
Required Total Linear Footage: 150’
Installation conditions: Flowing water, muddy, some light vegetation debris.
If flowing water, what is the CFS Volume: 150+ cfs
Maximum water depth at time of installation: 5+
Maximum water depth for entire project life: 5+
How will flowing water be passed around the work area: The bladder will act as a “dam” to check up water and divert flows further downstream of excavation.
If using other methods, please specify: Could be used in conjunction with an earthened dike.
Surface conditions at worksite: Side vegetation, muddy soil.
If other surfaces (or a combination) than describe: Gravel roads, excessive clay.
Describe the dirt/mud/sand depth and consistency: various soil materials being extremely mucky mud.
Are there any objects present that could damage a Dam? If so, please describe: Floating vegetation debris, vegetation on slope.
Are any slopes present: Yes.
If there are any Grades or Slopes, please describe in detail: Usually a 2:1 or less.
