Middle Provo Riverbank Stabilization Site Visit Call Questions and Answers

1. Can you please provide the property legal descriptions that are listed in the solicitation or let me know if we should request them from the Commission?

Legal descriptions can be provided. To receive documents, contact Brandi Clark, Contract Specialist, at brandiclark@usbr.gov to request documents.

2. Is there a hydraulic model or existing survey data for the channel available?

Data for the specific project site is not available; however, past monitoring efforts have previously collected data at study sites located upstream and downstream of the project site.

Monitoring reports for 2004-2006 are available on the Mitigation Commission website (www.mitigationcommission.gov). The USU publication can be requested from Brandi Clark at email above.

3. Is there a page limit?

No, please make sure quote submissions adhere to the Instructions to Offerors and Evaluation Criteria.

4. Clarify the specific goals of the project, is it just to stabilize the bank or is there a goal to have a natural channel alignment?

The goal is just to stabilize the bank in this location.

5. Is there any structural instability with the structures above the bank or concern about the structure above the bank? Have there been any investigations into that?

We have questions about the land ownership along the bank, we are confident that the U.S.

owns a flood easement on the land, there is deck that goes down to the river, it is subject to the flood easement, and we are, not worried about deck.

6. Who owns the land and are we okay to get in and work at the bank?

Confirming ownership of the land currently, vendors are okay to work at the bank, within the flood easement.

7. For the plans, will they have local elevation control, or do they need to be tied into specific datum for elevation control?

Will need to look into, don’t know that there is any need to tie into a real world elevation, surveyors are working in that area so if there is a need to tie into that we would have the surveyors set that control.

8. Clarify the due dates in the schedule: does the draft and final design report includes the drawings and specs in that report as well?

mailto:brandiclark@usbr.gov

Yes.

9. 172 linear feet is primary area of concern and the PWS states the solution may address more or less of the estimated length. Does the Government see this as an opportunity to work over a larger area or is the priority to focus on just stabilizing the section (thereby minimizing the cost)?

The latter, priority is to stabilize the primary area of concern.
