Questions & Answers

1. Is the entire stockpile considered contaminated, or is the government planning to delineate the area for cleanup? With out delineation the entire pile will be considered contaminated and need to be removed and over excavated per scope of work?

Asbestos Removal Work Plan (ARWP), dated February 23, 2023, delineates the area for cleanup to that of the asbestos cement pipe and 8" of soil beneath. Non-asbestos materials may remain onsite. View attached ARWP for further explanation of procedures.

Contrary to ARWP, Statement of Work requires Contractor to notify ADEQ in accordance with the asbestos National Emission Standard for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) Program. NESHAP notification is required for this project.

2. During the site walk it was demonstrated that it is not obvious that the asbestos materials are segregated from other waste piles. Would you please provide a limit of scope demonstrating the exact area of abatement of material piles and associated over excavation?
