Question and Answer Sheet

Q: The Fluke thermocouple meters (Table 2.2) have digital readouts that go into the hundredths place. A verification is acceptable if the thermocouple meters are not being used to calibrate any of your equipment. I need to know how these meters are used in order to give a proper quote. Does BOR need these meters verified to the tenths place or the hundredths place?

A: Verification to the tenth’s place is sufficient. BOR uses them to record temperature as part of other test methods. They are not used for calibration purposes.
