QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

# Contractor Question Government Answer

This project is tax exempt for services and Bureau of Reclamation will issue tax exempt certificate. As for material, sales tax is not exempt for federal projects in the State of Washington and the sales tax rate is

8.4% in Grand Coulee? Do you want a separate line item showing sales tax?

For Electronic Invoicing and Payment Requirements per Section G.3, sales taxes are not a separate line item.

The removal of the concrete is a large portion of the labor costs, is there an option to leave the existing concrete and install new high hazard rated seismic racking that will be secured to concrete? This will save the Bureau of Reclamation a large portion in labor cost.

No, this question has been addressed by the design and previous analysis. The concrete is to be removed per the design.

What equipment is available for transporting and/or hoisting the batteries in each of the battery rooms

(cranes, hoists, carts, pallet jacks, etc.)?

Contractor is to provide all transportation and/or hoisting equipment to perform the work.

Aside from the drawings furnished with the solicitation, are there any additional one-line drawings for the DC system available for review”?

See attached Drawings.

What is the available GPM of the existing eye wash stations supply?

GPM of the existing eye wash stations are unknown.

The bid documents do not provide the entire haul route that will be needed to move equipment and materials into and out of the battery rooms, please provide a detailed description of the approved route.

A detailed description of the haul route will not be provided. The contractor will need to determine the appropriate path to move equipment and materials into and out of the battery rooms.

Spec Section 26 33 13 1.05 C 4 references drawings

222-100-60445 and 222-100-60448. Can these drawings be provided?

Requested drawings provided

We would like to formally request a two-week extension to the bid date.

Bid closing has been extended two weeks to August 5th at 1300 MST
