About this file

This document contains questions and answers related to solicitation number 140R1021B0012 for a Troutlodge Fish Hatchery Groundwater Intercept System. The project involves adding new gates to outlet structures 1 and 2 of the S-ponds at the hatchery, with hatchery personnel attempting to drain the ponds to the lowest level possible for installation. Video inspection is required for the existing 24-inch lines once installed. Excavated spoils may be disposed of in the contractor use area shown on drawing 222-D-60376. While the pre-bid site visit is not mandatory, an attendance roster was provided in Amendment 001. Procore and similarly situated NAICS codes are acceptable for the contract management system and SAM profile. No work is required on the furthest south outlet structure.

Troutlodge Groundwater Intercept System

140R1021B0012 – Amendment 0002

Questions and Answers:

1. We missed the pre-bid site visit for this project. Is the site visit mandatory? Can you provide me with the pre-bid site visit attendance list.

THE PRE-BID SITE VISIT IS NOT MANDATORY. SEE ATTENDANCE ROSTER

IN AMENDMENT 001.

2. Specification section 01 31 30 Contract Document Management System. Have you seen contractors using Procore meet this spec? Or is there another program that you prefer?

PROCORE IS AN ACCEPTABLE PROGRAM.

3. Do you have a list of plan holders or contractors who have shown an interest in the work?

SEE ATTENDANCE ROSTER IN AMENDMENT 001.

4. Please review the language referenced below per the supply quote from Fresno Valve & Casting Inc, per Spec Section 35-22-14.

***39" gates do not exist.***

***NOTE: THE SPECIFIED AND QUOTED SERIESS 6600

GATES DO NOT MEET AWWA C501 AND C513 REQUIREMENTS AS

SPECIFIED***

What size gate is to be installed in leu of the 39” gate?

SPECIFICATIONS PARAGRAPH 35 22 14 2.01 A.7 PERMITS GATES FROM

OTHER MANUFACTURERS THAT MEET THE SPECIFICATIONS

REQUIREMENTS AND PARAGRAPH 35 22 14 1.04 B REQUIRES SUBMITTAL

FOR APPROVAL OF DATA ON THE GATES TO BE INSTALLED INCLUDING

SIZE. SEE ALSO THE REQUIREMENT ON DRAWINGS 222-D-60379 AND 222-

D60380 NOTES FOR MEASURING THE EXISTING STRUCTURES PRIOR TO

ORDERING GATES.

5. The specified gate(s) don’t meet the specified requirements as mentioned above. Are C501 and C513 requirements still applicable for the gate(s); thus leaving the sole-spec’d product un-acceptable?

SEE ATTACHED REVISED SPECIFICATION SECTION 35 22 14.

6. Page K-4 of the Specifications states, “The North American Industry classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 335311”.

Does a bidding contractor need to have the NAICS code 335311 already installed/approved in the companies SAM profile?

THE EXACT NAICS CODE IS NOT REQUIRED IF A SIMILARLY SITUATED

NAICS CODE/SIZE STANDARD IS APPROVED IN THE SAM PROFILE.

7. Is any work to be performed on the third (furthest South) drainage/stop log structure?

NO WORK IS REQUIRED ON FURTHEST SOUTH OUTLET STRUCTURE NO.3.

8. Clarifying that video inspection is required for both 24” lines per Spec 3.06 of Section 33 46 36 on page 6 of the section. Water may very well be collecting/running in the pipes once the Perf pipe is installed, thus making the video inspection impractical?

FLOW IN THE NONPERFORATED PIPE MAY BE STOPPED WITH THE FLOW

CONTROL STRUCTURE IN PLACE THUS ALLOWING VIDEO INSPECTION AND/OR

ALL PIPE MAY BE INSPECTED PRIOR TO REMOVAL OF ADJACENT DEWATERING

SYSTEMS

9. Per Dwg 222-D-60376; clarifying that the excavation spoils may be disposed of per the Contractor Use plan as referenced on Dwg 222-D-60376?

AREA FOR EXCAVATION SPOILS IS SHOWN ON DRAWING 222-D-60376.

10. To what elevation will the Troutlodge employees lower the “S-ponds” for the installation of the new gate structures? As mentioned on Page 3 of Spec 35 22 14, 3.01-A.3.

HATCHERY PERSONNEL WILL ATTEMPT TO DRAIN THE PONDS TO THE

LOWEST LEVEL POSSIBLE, BUT THE EXACT LEVEL IS UNKNOWN.

11. Are Structure’s #1 and #2 in the “S-Ponds” to be replaced, or only modified to accept the new gate structures? Please clarify.

ONLY GATES ARE TO BE ADDED TO OUTLET STRUCTURES 1 AND 2.
