NATIONAL PARK SERVICE
REGION 11 ALASKA
National Park Service, Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park
Technical Specifications Attachment
Revised at Amendment 01
General Description of Needed Materials: The National Park Service requires a telehandler capable of performing a wide range of material‑handling and elevated placement tasks in support of maintenance, construction, and facility operations. The equipment must include a telescoping boom capable of lifting, extending, and positioning loads at various heights and reaches, with sufficient capacity to handle palletized materials, structural components, and other operational supplies. The telehandler shall be delivered with forks but must be compatible with multiple attachments—such as, buckets, and approved personnel‑handling platforms—to ensure flexibility across diverse jobsite conditions, including uneven and rough terrain.
To ensure maneuverability in constrained or variable work environments, the telehandler must feature multiple steering configurations, including front‑wheel steering for stable travel, four‑wheel steering for reduced turning radius in tight areas, and crab steering for precise lateral alignment alongside structures or obstacles. The equipment should provide accurate boom control, operator visibility, an enclosed cab with heater and overall stability necessary for safe and efficient material placement. This capability is essential to meet ongoing operational demands and to support facility management requirements across the park’s built and natural environments.
Telehandler may be previously used with less than 2000 hours if accompanied with a certified letter from a credentialled mechanic certifying a thorough inspection and record that all safety inspections and required maintenance has been preformed prior to award. This certification letter for used equipment is required after award selection notification, and prior to actual award release.
