RFQ 140P8524Q0026

TRAVEL TRAILER RENTALS FOR YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK

Questions and Answers

The following are questions and answers received during the RFQ:

1. Is this a brand-new contract or is there an incumbent performing these services?

a. Answer: This is a new service. There is not an incumbent.

2. Cleaning is mentioned in the solicitation. Does this refer to arriving clean and may need to be cleaned after being taken away?

a. Answer: Yes.

3. Are services required between drop off and pick up, such as propane refilling or other services?

a. Answer: No. Services will not be required during the performance period.

4. If something breaks in the RV, how would that be addressed based on the solicitation?

a. Answer: Should anything break during performance that needs immediate attention, we will address that through a modification to the contract.

5. Is there an expected range of costs for this service?

a. Answer: No. A range of cost is not available.

6. The interior height states “8 feet” minimum. Is an interior height of 6’ 6” allowable?

a. Answer: The minimum interior height must be 8 feet minimum. Below this height is not acceptable.

7. Are fifth wheel style travel trailers allowable?

a. Answer: Yes, a fifth wheel style travel trailer is allowable.

8. Does the total bid amount need to be broken up monthly, or one bid for both trailers, total for the 5 months?

a. Answer: Per the Synopsis and Solicitation, page 2, quotes must include a detailed price schedule to include the monthly rental rate, delivery, and removal. The detailed quote can be separate from the SF18, as long as both the quote and SF18 total amounts match.

9. Is this a brand new contract or is there an incumbent performing these services?

a. Answer: We have similar services currently being provided in the park, however this is a new requirement and will have a new contract issued.

10. Regarding the kitchenette specifications in the solicitation, it mentions a “full-size propane and/or electric refrigerator.” Would an RV fridge and an outdoor mini fridge meet the requirement? If not, would an additional outdoor mini fridge meet the requirement?

a. Answer: No. Either a full size refrigerator, or something large enough to accommodate a week of food for 2 people needs to be inside the trailer. This is due to bear safety regulations.

11. Would a slightly smaller 26-pound propane tank be acceptable instead of the specified 30-pound tank? Also, who is responsible for refilling the propane tanks when empty?

a. Answer: This is acceptable, the NPS will refill the tanks.

12. Is there a septic tank available for the trailers to hook up to at the location? And could you clarify if this location is an actual established campsite with regular cleaning services, or would the trailers need to be cleaned regularly, such as weekly, during the rental period?

a. Answer: This is not an established campsite. The trailer will be placed near the wastewater treatment facility and a hose will be ran from the trailer to the sewer connection. This has been successful in the past.

The occupants will be responsible for cleaning up after themselves during the performance period. The contractor is only responsible for a deep clean at the end of the performance period.

13. Regarding the setup of the trailers, could you confirm if the property has the necessary resources for connecting the trailer to power, sewer, and water? Additionally, if these resources are not available, what steps should be taken?

a. Answer: All utility connections are available

14. The specifications ask for gray water connections to be approximately 50 gallons. Would 40 gallons be acceptable since the lines would be connected to the system?

a. Answer: Yes.

15. The specifications ask for freshwater minimum 50 gallon tank. Is 44 gallons acceptable since the units will be hooked up to the water system and do not utilize the fresh tanks?

a. Answer: Yes.
