Questions and Answers Solicitation 140P8424Q0016

1 - Rauda Kiosk Map Models (X1.02)

I have reached out to Rauda, the manufacturer of the topographical maps, but I am unsure if they will respond. Can you provide any details on the materials used to make these maps?

Rauda will have to provide these details as they are proprietary to Rauda. The Map must be restored to the same specifications as Rauda maps.

2 - Park Name Banner with Arrowhead (X1.0)

In drawing X1.0 the banner panel is called out at 152.5” L. Is that one single piece? Is this piece flat, and flexed to create the curve when fastened to the standoffs, or was it pre-curved (rolled) prior to assembly with the backdrop.

According to drawings and observation on-site it appears to be one piece. We are not aware if the previous contractor pre-curved it prior to assembly.

3 - Can you provide more details on the nature of wear for the arrowhead panel to help determine if replacement is needed for that piece?

We are unable to determine if the arrowhead can be refurbished or if it needs to be replaced.

Given the age of the exhibit and extreme conditions, replacement is very possible.

4 - New Exhibit Panels .25” (X1.03,X2.1)

Can you direct me to the sizes of panels 3.0-1 and 5.0-5?

Please email Derek Lohuis at derek_lohuis@nps.gov for a link to the graphic files.

5 - New Exhibit Panels .125” (X1.02)

Can you direct me to the sizes of panels 1.2-2, 1.2-3, 1.2-4, 1.2-5, 1.2-6, 1.2-7 and 1.2-1?

In the shared Graphic Panel Indesign and Relief Map Files folder, please see all the folders for these files. Please email Derek Lohuis at derek_lohuis@nps.gov for a link to the graphic files.

mailto:derek_lohuis@nps.gov

1.2-2: curved panel final cut size 9x18 1.2-3: curved panel final cut size 9x18 1.2-4: curved panel final cut size 9x35 1.2-5: curved panel final cut size 9x35 1.2-6: curved panel final cut size 9x35 1.2-7: curved panel final cut size 9x35 1.2-1: curved panel final cut size 9x18

6 - Do you anticipate “touch up” and not a complete repainting of the surfaces?

The Rauda relief map will need a complete repaint as will the kiosk panel frames.

7 - Can you give an approximate number of areas to be patched?

The Rauda relief map will need a complete repaint as noted above. It appears that there is one large scratch on the map that might need to be patched. Rauda will need to make that final determination during refurbishment. See RCHIS 24011 - 10 Attachment 4 Photos of Current State of Exhibits for photos of current state of map.

8 - How many labels to be revised?

All labels on the Rauda map will need to be replaced as the entire map needs be repainted. In the shared Graphic Panel Indesign and Relief Map Files folder, please see the Rauda map folder for the Rauda Scorpion Map 2024 file with all changes to labels. Please email Derek Lohuis at derek_lohuis@nps.gov for a link to the graphic files.

9 - Can you point out where I would find the panels 3.0-1 and 5.0-5? I cannot find them on the drawings. I’m sure I’m overlooking them, but I just don’t find these two.

In the shared Graphic Panel Indesign and Relief Map Files folder, please see folders 3.01 and

5.05. Includes indesign graphic file and drawing and photos of structures panels are attached to.

Please email Derek Lohuis at derek_lohuis@nps.gov for a link to the graphic files.
