Statement of Work
RFQ 140P8421Q0096
Remove & Replace Worn Carpet Headquarters-Admin, Interagency Fire Cache Buildings and Visitor Center Buildings
Lava Beds National Monument Siskiyou County, California
Lava Beds National Monument, located in Tulelake, California has the requirement for the purchase and installation of new carpet to replace worn carpet, in the following locations:
Headquarters Administration building, Interagency Fire Cache Buildings and Visitor Center at the Lava Beds National Monument. All three locations are in within a quarter mile of the Lava Beds administrative area.
001 Replace Worn Carpet in Lava Beds Headquarters Administration and Interagency Fire Cache Buildings:
The Lava Beds National Monument located in Tulelake, California is to replace the carpet in the Admin and Interagency Fire Cache buildings. To expedite the removal of old carpet and laying/installation of the new carpet and decrease disruption of operations this work is to be done at the hours listed below.
The new carpet is to be made of 25% recycled sustainable carpet (28 ounce 100 percent nylon commercial carpet). The interested contractor is recommended to attend a site visit to perform actual measurements and lay out before summiting a bid. At that time, the Contractor must supply samples of the carpet including specifications and quality. The carpet must also show the percentage of sustainable reusable material it contains. Upon award, the contractor is to remove and dispose of the existing carpet and glue. The contractor must provide all tools and materials needed to install the carpet, and rubber base, including adhesives, tack strip, and metal stripping.
The new carpet is to be glued directly to the floor. In areas where the wooden base exists the base will remain. The areas where the rubber base exists, the existing rubber base is to be removed and new rubber base provided and installed by the contractor. The rooms vary in size.
Each room must be completed with-in 2 days. The Contractor must vacuum the carpet at the time of completion. The contractor is responsible for moving all non-sensitive items including desks, furniture, bookcases, and cabinets before and after work is performed. The Park staff will move papers, books, and electronics. This work is subject to the Service Contract Act Wage Determination. Working hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Monday thru Friday, excluding holidays.
Projected installation start date in late-July 2021, but will be determined at time of award.

002 Replace Worn Carpet in the Visitor Center

For the Visitor Center only the Park will have a professional mover move to 2 large exhibit cases in the museum. The Park will move papers, books, and electronics. This work is subject to the Service Contract Act Wage Determinations. Working hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Monday thru Friday excluding holidays.
