QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS RECEIVED TO DATE:

Q1: Would it be acceptable to bid with an “A” license, listing a C-36 subcontractor?

A1: Yes, this is acceptable.

Q2: Please confirm there in not bid bond required per solicitation.

A2: Correct – a bid bond is not required to be submitted with your quote.

Q3: Will there be a job walk for this project?

A3: As it states in the solicitation, a site visit can be scheduled upon request by contacting the Contracting Officer's Representative Bryan Darnell at (831) 389-4594.

Q4: The specifications reference plans, but I didn't see any attached. Did I miss something?

Was hoping to see a plan for each restroom.

A4: This was a typo and has been removed in the revised specifications. There are no existing floor plans. With this Amendment, NPS has provided diagrammatic plans for estimating purposes. See attachment: Att 06_140P8420Q0099_Diagrammatic Plans.pdf

Q5: Section 3.1, B.3 of the Specifications calls for Shop Drawings. Please clarify. Shop drawings prepared by the successful Bidder will be a contract deliverable?

A5: Yes, Successful contractor will need to provide measured drawings based on in-field measurement verification. Accessible features will need to meet ABAAS and be clearly shown in drawings to do so.

Q6: Restroom remodel will follow federal ADA or state Title 24 accessibility standards?

A6: The NPS is bound by Federal ADA and ABA requirements though if there are local or state accessibility standards that are more stringent we will accept those standards.

Q7: Which building code will cover the plumbing installation?

A7: Please reference the Federal Uniform Plumbing Code

Q8: The California Building Code requires Cast Iron for commercial drain piping. ABS waste piping will be OK?

A8: Please reference the Federal Uniform Plumbing Code for required materials.

Q9: P-trap materials? Chromed brass? ABS?

A9: Please reference the Federal Uniform Plumbing Code for required materials.

See attachment: Att 08_140P8420Q0099_Asbestos and Lead Report.pdf

Q12: Roll-in or Transfer Type shower stalls?

A12: Comfort Station #1 will not have accessible showers at this time. Shower stalls should not have a curb for ease of use by a variety of users, but should be pitched to drain properly away from changing area.

Q13: Shop drawings of the fixture and partition installation required?

A13: Yes, Successful contractor will need to provide measured drawings based on in-field measurement verification. Accessible features will need to meet ABAAS and be clearly shown in drawings to do so.

Q14: Specifications for Comfort Station #1 do not mention replacement of lavatories. Please confirm replacement of four lavatories total.

A14: Yes, all lavatories will be replaced. Location of rough plumbing will remain as layout will not change in this comfort station #1.

Q15: Confirm no new entry doors for Comport Station #1. Confirm door swings on all four comfort stations.

A15: Comfort station #1 will receive new doors to match existing. Door swing will change as shown in diagrams.

Q16: Urinal drains are contained within pipe sleeves in the existing CMU stem wall between the restroom and utility closet. Complete removal of sleeves required followed by full-depth filling of unused pipe chases/sleeves?

A16: Only for Comfort Stations #2 #3, and #5. Contractor may be able to reuse pipe sleeve in #1 given the overall layout will not change.

Q17: If the new waste line connections require demolition into the utility closet will that be addressed as a change-order item?

A17: Assume worse-case scenario for estimating purposes.

Q18: Are any site photos of the buildings available?

A18: Yes, a few photos are being provided for existing context.
