Date: July 15, 2026 To: General Public (via Government’s Point of Entry at SAM.gov) From: Sue Mayo, Contract Specialist, Con Ops West/OLYM MABO Subject: Sources Sought Notice (SSN) Reference: Replace John Deere Transmission, Olympic National Park ** This is an SSN for the purpose of conducting Market Research. Quotes are NOT being requested, nor accepted at this time. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR QUOTES AND NO CONTRACT SHALL BE AWARDED FROM THIS NOTIFICATION**
1. Purpose: To gain knowledge regarding the types of interested businesses and their qualifications. Information obtained through this SSN will be utilized to develop the acquisition strategy. The amount of interest, or lack thereof, will determine the possibility of a Small Business or other Socio-Economic Set-Aside for solicitation and award purposes. Analysis of the quality of responses to this SSN will be considered in the Market Research being conducted and in the making of any set-aside determination for this requirement.
2. Cost Reimbursement: Response to this announcement is strictly voluntary. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this SSN, nor any follow-up information requests.
3. North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code: 811310 Commercial and Industrial Machinery and Equipment (except Automotive and Electronic) Repair and Maintenance, Size Standard $12.5 million.
4. Project Description: Olympic National Park requires repair services to remove and replace the failed transmission in one (1) government-owned John Deere 310SJ backhoe loader. The contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, tools, diagnostic equipment, and incidental materials necessary to remove the failed transmission and install a genuine John Deere remanufactured Original Equipment (OE) transmission. The repair shall be completed in accordance with current John Deere service procedures and include all required diagnostics, programming, calibration, fluid replacement, operational testing, and quality assurance inspections necessary to restore the equipment to full operational condition. The park seeks a vendor within a 50 mile driving distance who can perform these repairs using certified John Deere mechanics, OEM parts, and approved repair procedures.
5. The park will transport the backhoe to and from the vendor facility.
6. Requested Response: Respondents must provide the following information:
A. Company name, address, UEI number, point of contact, telephone number, and email address.
B. Examples of relevant experience providing similar equipment to demonstrate capability (at a minimum, include a brief description of project, project dates, and customer name/agency) C. Company’s business size (small or other than small) and all applicable socio-economic category information (Small, 8(a), HubZone, SDVOSB, WOSB, EWOSB, ISBEE).
