About this file

This Statement of Work (SOW) details fire suppression system inspection services for Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve. The contract covers inspections for seven Park buildings over a base year and four option years, with annual inspections required for the base year and first three option years, and a comprehensive 5-year inspection in the fourth option year. Each inspection will generate a detailed report including a general overview, items requiring repair, recommended upgrades, and a pass/fail score. The contractor must provide the inspection report within five business days and also offer an option to perform repairs identified in the report, with a firm-fixed-price quote submitted within five business days of the inspection.

The seven buildings include various residential and utility structures ranging from 1,378 to 7,913 square feet, with ceiling heights between 8-12 feet. These include Residences #19-22, a duplex, Apartments #23, a Utility Building, and the Visitor Center. Each building has unique fire suppression system characteristics, such as exterior riser rooms, backflow prevention, and different piping configurations (exposed, in finished ceilings, or behind drop ceilings). A site visit for interested vendors is scheduled for Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at 11am, with the site point of contact available to facilitate a walkthrough.
