Statement of Work

Fort Vancouver Vegetative Material Grinding

General The work of this project consists of the grinding a of vegetative material within Fort Vancouver National

Historic Site.

Location Fort Vancouver National Historic Site

Maintenance Yard

501 East 5th Street, Vancouver, WA 98661.

Statement of Work All vegetative material shall be mulched - including all logs, tree stumps, branches, and brush. No mulched materials are to be removed from the site. Chipped or mulched material s ha l l be left on-site for NPS use.

Successful completion of the work constitutes complete processing of all vegetative material identified by NPS. The material is generally brush and logs from tree trimming and removal. Logs are up to 20’ in length and up to 36 inches diameter.

Photos are provided in this SOW as additional information. The total volume of material to be mulched is estimated at between

2,400 to 3,000 cubic yards. This is an estimate only.

Historically, work of this nature at this site has been accomplished using a "tub grinder" which is a large capacity material chipper. Using a tub grinder is not a requirement of this contract as other methods of grinding, chipping or mulching are acceptable.

Regular work hours shall be limited to daylight hours from 7:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding government holidays. Work outside regular hours is not permitted.

Site Visit Potential bidders are highly encouraged to attend the site visit so they may personally assess the work load and site. A site visit is scheduled for the following time and place:
