3. Answer RFI Questions.

Question: Bathroom Access: Can you please confirm whether the public restrooms across the parking lot (near the USS Missouri tour area) will be available for contractor use during the project?

Answer: The contractor may utilize the restrooms located across the parking lot near the USS

Missouri tour area.

Question: Temporary Power Access: Is there currently live power to Bungalow 68?

Answer: Bungalow 68 currently has no power. The contractor should plan to provide their own generators for the duration of the project. If a nearby power source is identified, the contractor will be notified.

Question: Location of Main Water and Sewer Lines:

Please clarify the exact location of the main sewer and water lines to be capped. A site utility map or description would be appreciated to confirm the scope.

Answer: The main sewer and water lines are located on the west side of the building underneath the flooring and can be accessed through the exterior skirting or once the subflooring is removed. The contractor should cap the lines in that section and not beyond. Exact locations will be easier to identify once the subflooring is removed during demolition.

Question: Electrical Wiring ¿ Scope

Clarification: The scope states: Remove all electrical components, including receptacles, light fixtures, switches, power panels, and all electrical wiring within the walls. Ensure complete removal of interior electrical infrastructure.

Can you please confirm:

Does this apply only to interior wall and ceiling wiring, or Are we also required to remove wiring underneath the building, such as crawlspace/conduit wiring?

Answer: Removal applies only to electrical components within interior walls and ceilings that are easily accessible. Wiring located underneath the building does not need to be removed.

Question: Windows and Doors Identification:

Several windows and doors have been stored loosely in closets. Is there a reference or labeling system available to identify where each unit were located, or just make a list of which doors/windows and missing, and labor the doors in windows in closet?

Answer: The contractor should make a list of missing doors and windows, and label the ones stored in the closet.

Question: Flooring Substrate Clarification: The specs reference mastic removal, which suggests a slab, but the structure appears to be on post-and-pier foundation. We are going to have to cut out the wooden subfloor to remove the mastic

(with some subfloor remaining around the perimeter edges which we will have to chisel out the top layer to remove mastic, just for clarity is this the direction you want to go?

Answer: Yes, the direction is to remove the existing wood subfloor in its entirety to abate the asbestos-containing mastic. After removal, a temporary plywood subfloor will be installed to maintain the building¿s floor diaphragm, protect against further structural movement, and provide safe working access until joist repairs and permanent subfloor installation occur in the next phase.

Temporary Subfloor Specifications:

Material: 3/4¿ Tongue-and-Groove APA

Sturd-I-Floor plywood, Exposure 1 or better.

Installation: Screw-only fastening, no adhesive, using coated deck screws spaced 12¿ along panel edges and 16¿ in the field.

Reusability: Panels will be marked for location to allow reinstallation in Phase 2.7.

Question: Weatherproofing Requirements: Outside of the call to plywood over window and door openings, is there any additional weatherproofing requirement expected for the building exterior?
