Specifications Mountain Pine Beetle Suppression

Death Valley National Park

1.1 DESCRIPTION

1.1.1 Supply two hundred and seventy-six (276) 750g tubes of SPLAT Verbenone pheromone repellent or equal for suppression of mountain pine beetle attack in the high-altitude forests (bristlecone and limber pine) on Telescope Peak and adjacent peaks in the Panamint Range in Death Valley National Park.

1.1.2 The Scope of this contract consists of:

A. Supplying the Product B. Deliver or ship the equipment to Death Valley national Park

1.1.3 The contractor shall provide all materials to be purchased described in this specification. All materials shall be new and Contractor-furnished from outside the park.

1.2 Delivery Requirements

1.2.1 Deliver or ship the equipment to the following address:

Death Valley National Park Cow Creek Maintenance Yard 579 Cow Creek Service Road Furnace Creek, CA, 92328

1.2.2 On or before 90 days after receipt of order

1.2.3 Delivery costs should be accounted for in the unit prices of the quoted items. Delivery costs should not be quoted as a separate item.

1.3 Required Items

1.3.1 Required items are to be brand name or equal to Tubed SPLAT Verbenone:

1.3.2 The quoted items must have at a minimum the following salient characteristics:

A. Must work on Mountain Pine Beetle specifically B. Must be pheromone based C. Must come in tube form and be able to be applied using a generic calk gun or have a similar application process D. Must require that product be hung from a tree

1.3.3 For each "Substitution" or "Comparable Product" the Contractor submits as being "equal" to the product that has been specified, the Contractor shall submit supporting documentation that includes:

A. Detailed comparison of the characteristics of the proposed item with that specified.

B. Name, address, and telephone number of vendor.

C. Product data, including drawings, descriptions, fabrication, and samples as appropriate.
