About this file
This document is a statement of work for improvements to RV trailer pad sites at Parashant National Monument. The project involves constructing two new RV trailer parking pads with full hookups including culinary water, 50-amp electrical service, and wastewater connections. The contractor will connect the new sites to existing utility systems, excavate and lay piping and wiring, install RV pedestals and hydrants, and construct gravel pads. The work is to take place between August and November 2023 at the remote Dellenbaugh Administrative Site in Arizona. The contractor will be responsible for project management, safety plans, daily reporting, and using qualified tradespeople. Special considerations include the isolated location with no services, rugged access roads, and limited communications.

STATEMENT OF WORK
Repair Trailer Pads Dellenbaugh Administrative
Site - Parashant National Monument, AZ
PART - 1 – GENERAL
1.1 SCOPE OF WORK
A. Provide full RV site hookups (culinary water, electrical - 50 30-amp service, and wastewater connections) to two new RV/trailer parking pads within the Dellenbaugh Administrative Site, AZ.
B. Construct two RV/trailer parking sites.
C. Connect existing culinary water source to new RV/trailer sites.
D. Connect existing electrical to new RV/trailer sites
PERFORMANCE PERIOD:
Period of Performance to begin 8/15/2023. Contracting officer shall issue Notice to Proceed (NTP) #1 once bonds and liability insurance are submitted and accepted. Upon acceptance of Division 1 submittals and preconstruction meeting. contracting officer shall issue NTP #2 for on site work. All onsite work is estimated to be performed: 8/21/23 to 11/19/23
E. Connect existing wastewater system to new RV/trailer sites.
F. Furnish all labor, materials, tools, and equipment necessary to complete project.
1.2 SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS
A. WATER
Water will be obtained by connecting to East cabin main water line at the existing East cabin water shut off valve area. A 4-foot-deep trench approximately 300 ft. in length will need to be excavated from the East cabin valve area to the RV/trailer pad sites. This trench will accommodate a 3/4-inch diameter polyethylene (Pex-A) culinary water line.
Match existing culinary water line (1 inch Sch 80 PVC) size that connects to East cabin from existing water shut off ball valve. Field verify. The culinary water line will be protected by the appropriate bedding and backfill material. A traffic rated valve vault (36 inches in diameter) will be installed at the East cabin underground valve location. Based on the proposed valve vault location between the two RV/trailer should not have to be traffic rated; however, steel manhole lid will be installed. Both valve vault locations will contain at a minimum one NSF 61 tee connection and two NSF 61 certified ball valves to isolate the East cabin and RV/trailer sites from the main water line. Each RV trailer site will have a freezeless sanitary yard hydrant with a 4 foot bury.
B. ELECTRICAL
The electrical sub-panel on the generator building is located approximately 210 feet from the existing electrical pedestal which is located approximately 12 feet to the west of the proposed west RV/trailer site. This electrical circuit is 110/120 volt, 30-amp, 3 4-wire (6 AWG copper) with a 1 ¼ metal conduit that connects both the pedestal and service panel.
Unknown if the entire underground conduit run is metallic. Determine the requirements to upgrade the current 30-amp service to 50-amp service and replace existing 6 AWG wire with 4 AWG copper wire. Install new 50/30/20-amp electrical service pedestal per RV/trailer pad using existing electrical pedestal location and existing underground electrical conduit. Trench from the existing electrical pedestal to the new RV pedestals.
Daisy chain the two pedestals. Approximately an additional 55 ft. of wiring will be added to

the circuit to connect the two new pedestals. Upgrade existing service panel and/or add new sub-panel (if required), upgrade circuit breaker(s) and upgrade the copper wiring size to accommodate maximum amperage rating for new electrical pedestals. Use qualified, licensed electrician to design and install the RV pedestal electrical circuits per applicable National Electrical Codes (NEC).
C. WASTEWATER
Install 4-inch sanitary sewer connection and sewer cap in both RV/trailer sites.
Approximately an additional 90 feet of 4-inch ABS pipe will be required to complete the installation. Install an ABS wye that will connect the two new sewer connections in each new RV/trailer site to the main ABS sewer line of existing 1000-gallon septic tank. Add additional ABS cleanouts as required. Install sewer lines at proper slope angle for pipe size and distance. Protect the main ABS sewer line and connections using specified bedding and backfill materials.
D. RV SITES
Construct (2) gravel parking pads (12’ x 40’) using a commercial permeable paver system set atop a 6” gravel subbase. Excavate parking pad areas to the required depth and compact native soil to a 95% compaction rate prior to adding gravel subbase. Add geofabric between subgrade and sub-base. Parking pad finish height will match the existing access road height. Fill grid system with properly sized aggregate per manufacturers specifications. These new sites will be located within open areas of Ponderosa Pine forest that encompasses the Dellenbaugh Administrative Site. Construct concrete pad (approx. 24”x 36”x 4”) at each site to house the sewer connection (4 inch), sanitary yard hydrant, and electrical pedestal.
