QUESTIONS:
Question # Question Answer/Response
1. For Item # 7 “Clad Windows” in the Specifications, the suggested product is the Anderson 100 Series clad window. The Anderson 100 Series clad window is made from composite Fibrex material but does not come with the pre-installed brick mould that is listed as a requirement in the Specifications.
Would the Anderson 100 Series window that come in Composite Fibrex material be acceptable if it doesn’t have the pre-installed brick mould? You could install the brick mould after installing the Anderson 100 Series window, but it would need to be attached to the framing surrounding the window, not directly into the window frame as it would damage the Fibrex cladding.
Alternatively, there are other Anderson windows that come with the pre-installed brick mould, but have aluminum or vinyl clad. Would aluminum or vinyl material be acceptable instead of composite Fibrex material?
Vinyl or aluminum cladding is an acceptable alternative to the composite Fibrex material used in the suggested product (listed as “Anderson 100 Series” clad windows in the Specifications).
Pre-installed brick mould is preferable, but alternatives that do not have the pre-installed brick mould are acceptable with loose trim that can be installed after the windows are installed.
All quoted windows must adhere to the white interior color & the chocolate or dark bronze exterior color.
Specifications have been updated to reflect this clarification.
2. The Anderson 100 Series factory applied trim mould is not a true brick mould profile. The Anderson 400 Series has the true brick mould profile.
Is a factory installed exterior moulding other than the true brick mould profile acceptable?
Yes this alternative will be acceptable.
However, all quoted windows must adhere to the white interior color & the chocolate or dark bronze exterior color.
Specifications have been updated to reflect this clarification.
3. An important factor to know is whether the windows your customer wants are the type with a new construction flange or a retrofit insert type.
The configuration of the window is an important factor.
Are the suggested Andersen 100 series windows being installed as new construction flange type or retrofit insert type?
The window must be the type with the new construction flange.
Specifications have been updated to reflect this clarification.
4. Is loose trim that can be installed after the windows are installed acceptable?
Loose trim that can be installed after the windows are installed is acceptable.
Quoted loose trim must be compatible with quoted window. Manufacturer specifications must be provided.
Specifications have been updated to reflect this clarification.
