About this file
This document is a Questions & Answers (Q&A) amendment for Solicitation 140P6425B0001 for the West Beach Picnic Shelter Replacement project at Indiana Dunes National Park. The Q&A addresses 26 detailed questions from potential contractors covering various aspects of the project, including site access, construction requirements, utility connections, staging areas, power availability, and project timeline. Key details include on-site work restricted to beginning after Labor Day 2025 and completing before Memorial Day Weekend 2026, temporary fencing of the entire site, a 120v outlet at the restroom for power, no required permits, and final inspection to be performed by Park personnel. The project involves replacing eight picnic shelter structures and one pergola, with associated boardwalks, concrete surfaces, and furnishings.
Specific notable points include: a standard water connection at the restroom, no known hazardous materials present, no soil boring logs available, contractor responsible for providing a generator if needed, and all detailed specifications to be obtained from the pre-fab Poligon manufacturer. The staging area location can be adjusted with Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) approval, and the remaining park areas will stay operational during construction. The trail outside the construction perimeter will remain accessible to visitors throughout the project.
